Abertay University, operating name for the University of Abertay Dundee since 2014, is one of two public universities  in the city of Dundee, Scotland

Abertay was the first University in the world to offer a computer games degree, and the first in the UK to be recognized as a Centre for Excellence in Computer Games Education. You could never accuse Abertay of being stuck in the past. It offers world-leading courses in computer arts, ethical hacking, computer games technology and environmental sciences; has some of the best IT facilities in the UK; Abertay University is situated in the centre of Dundee. The campus buildings include the historic Old College buildings of Dundee Business School, the Bernard King Library, scenes of crime teaching facilities, specialist Ethical Hacking labs designed for research into computer hacking and misuse, and modern computer games labs in the UK Centre for Excellence in Computer Games EducationDundee itself is a bustling, hard-working city, the fourth largest in Scotland and also, apparently, the sunniest, thanks to its south-facing aspect. Accommodation for International Students

  • Abertay gives priority to all new students from outside Dundee for its accommodation.

  • All accommodation is self-catering, has free Wi-Fi and contents insurance, and is within an easy walk of the university.

  • International students are not clustered, with all nationalities mixed across residences.

  • Students do not have to move out during each vacation – Christmas and Easter vacations are included within the tenancy agreements.

  • The university has over 500-bed spaces across four locations, all of which are a short walk from campus and the city centre. There are a range of room types - including bedsits, shared rooms and multi-occupancy flats - so you can be confident you’ll find something which suits your needs.

  • The accommodation is self-catered and provides a mix of en-suite and shared bathroom facilities.

  • Wherever you stay, caretakers and security are available 24 hours a day, and a team of cleaners ensure the shared spaces and bathrooms - en-suite or otherwise - are cleaned regularly.
